WHY STAY IN URGUP?
A stronger choice for space, spa time and slower evenings.
Urgup has a different rhythm from Goreme. The town is larger and more spread out, and many of its standout cave hotels feel more like full properties than compact guesthouses. That makes it especially attractive for travellers who want pools, spas, larger suites and more time at the hotel itself.
The trade-off is that you may use taxis, hotel shuttles or a rental car more often. If your priority is stepping out of the hotel and walking immediately to the biggest choice of restaurants and tour offices, Goreme is usually easier.
Best for spa time
Kayakapi and Yunak Evleri both offer more complete wellness facilities than many small cave hotels.
Best for larger rooms
Urgup properties often have bigger suites and more varied layouts than compact central guesthouses.
Best for a quiet stay
Gamirasu in Ayvali is the most peaceful of these three, but it is less central.
Best with a car
Urgup and nearby villages become much easier if you are driving or comfortable using transfers.
