Göreme puts restaurants, tour pickups, viewpoints and a huge choice of cave hotels close together. It works especially well if you are visiting without a car or only have two or three nights.
The main mistake is choosing only from pretty rooftop photos. In Göreme, the exact room matters. A windowless cave room, a stone room with daylight, a balcony suite and a private-jacuzzi room can feel completely different inside the same hotel.

Can I see balloons from my hotel?
Many Göreme hotels have strong sunrise terraces, but balloon routes vary with the wind and flights require official approval. No hotel can guarantee balloons directly in front of the terrace every morning.
Are all Goreme cave rooms dark?
No. Some true cave rooms have little natural light, while others have windows or open directly to terraces. Stone rooms usually feel brighter. Check the exact room, not just the hotel name.
